We admire people who want to make positive changes in their communities and we support them in this learning journey. Through Social Entrepreneurship in Local Communities, we support entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas and want to develop businesses with social impact in the communities they come from. Together with the five partners in the program, we will organize incubation programs for 60 entrepreneurs from Romania, Italy, and Cyprus to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. We will also develop learning tools that will be promoted in the four partner countries as well as at the European level.

Learn and Pass It On

We aim to create incubation models for businesses with social impact that can become functional at a national level in Romania, Italy, and Cyprus. With the help of our partner from Belgium and the entrepreneurial development studies we will carry out, we will create an integrated incubation model dedicated to entrepreneurs outside the project countries.

The incubation programs will be based on research starting in January 2020, conducted across the three countries. The topics will focus on:

  • the real image and key characteristics of social entrepreneurship

  • the profile of social entrepreneurs

  • funding, incubation, and business acceleration opportunities

  • platforms for developing socially impactful business ideas

  • policy recommendations for future public initiatives

These programs will thus become innovative learning tools for partner organizations, as well as for the 60 adult entrepreneurs selected from Romania, Italy, and Cyprus. Through two transnational training sessions, we will transfer knowledge, methods, and tools that will help develop local communities in these countries and eventually generate new jobs.

The project also aims to create an online platform that will give visibility to social business ideas, validate the best ones, and even offer opportunities for community-based funding.

In December 2019, the first transnational management and implementation meeting of the project took place in Cluj-Napoca, with representatives of the partner organizations in attendance.
