The meeting was an opportunity to discover the projects and tools used by the foundation to increase the capacity of non-governmental organizations in the neighboring country.[\/vc_column_text]

What did we discuss at the meeting?<\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We talked with the foundation\u2019s representatives about how to build stronger organizations through initiatives that support them and make their voices heard. The discussions focused on topics and programs related to:[\/vc_column_text]
<\/i> <\/div>
NGO sector sustainability.<\/strong><\/span> We looked at projects like Small NGOs today, sustainable NGOs tomorrow<\/a>, which aimed to help organizations diversify their funding sources.<\/p>\n

We also brought up alternative funding mechanisms for NGOs, such as crowdfunding platforms (see Cre\u0219tem Idei<\/a>). The NIOK team introduced us to the www.adjukossze.hu<\/a> platform, a mechanism that has managed to become sustainable and helps dozens of Hungarian NGO campaigns to get funding every year. <\/div>

Visibility of NGOs and their impact<\/strong><\/span>. We talked about how we have tried to make the results of NGOs visible and increase trust in the sector through the Impact in the spotlight. Building trust in NGOs.<\/em><\/a> The project involved a series of events aimed at improving the image of the sector, such as: NGO festivals, press materials on NGO impact, a competition for young people who documented NGO impact and other activities. <\/div>

Programs for increasing organizational capacity.<\/strong> <\/span>Last but not least, we discussed how we can grow organizations by providing mentoring, training programs and other learning and development opportunities. We had a chance to talk about the project we are launching this summer, Partnership for Employment 2.0<\/em><\/a>, which will provide training opportunities and resources to NGOs active in the labor market. <\/div>

Annual report template as model of good practice<\/strong><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The meeting was primarily about sharing best practices. The NIOK Foundation team particularly appreciated the annual report design template we developed to help small and medium-sized NGOs to create a well-organized and modern-looking annual report, even if they don’t have a budget for it.<\/p>\n

The template can be customized here<\/a> for free by any NGO using Canva. Now, the template will also be helpful for organizations in Hungary, as it has been uploaded by NIOK and published on their communication platforms. We are glad to know that the initiatives we have thought of to grow Romanian NGOs have now reached across the border![\/vc_column_text]
