Although many people haven’t heard of social enterprises until now, the concept is already widely spread around the world. In the European Union, there are 2.8 million social economy enterprises, representing 10% of all businesses in the EU<\/strong>. Nearly 13.6 million people \u2013 about 6.2% of the EU workforce \u2013 work for social economy enterprises. In Romania, there are 2,924 social enterprises, of which 1,967 have a valid certificate (according to RUEIS, July 2024).
